The University Area

The University area is located in Northeast Charlotte.  In 1961 what was then Charlotte College relocated to this site.  Two years later it became Charlotte University, and then became a campus of the University of North Carolina system. Today the campus is in a growing suburban location within Charlotte in Northeast Mecklenburg County, and often called "University City".

The University Area has excellent access to I-77, I-85, and I-485.  The area will be within the new I-485 loop when completed.  Please visit one of the links below for more information on the University Area, or try links to sites about Charlotte.
